Worship Community is a developing vision for a new church plant model. The WC model begins with the two greatest commandments given directly by Jesus: love God and love others (Mark 12:28-31). From there, the model seeks to develop a passionate love for God through a tight-knit community atmosphere both within the church and the surrounding community.

"Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whomever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" - 1 John 5:1-5

When the goal of loving God and loving others is understood, the love of the believer becomes focused toward three types of persons: to God, to other believers, and to unbelievers. Additionally, there are three avenues in which this love grows: through building relationships, through education, and through action.

Relationships: Learning of the personality and person . . . not just learning about a person, but truly getting to know the person-- getting into their heart to be able to identify with them.

Education: Learning about the person.

Action: The combination of relationship and understanding resulting in a tangible response.

Together, these concepts create the general purpose statement for Worship Community:

Worship Community exists to give glory to God by loving God,
  other believers, and unbelievers through relationships, education,  
and action in the local community and around the world.
